Anyway I thought you'd like a winter hat tour followed by a paw tour. Extremities in extremes!
Ani Samla and I have the same hats except she cut her pompon off! My friend Ani Atara gave me this hat and my friend Sandra from Columbia said it's Peruvian which is why, when someone tried to sell me a similar hat down the street the other day, I just pointed to my well covered head. The absolute bonus is how this style covers your ears.
There's some hand knitted gems. Here's my friend Maura (we're born on the same day but not the same year). I think there's a resemblance between us don't you? Ani Dara knitted her this wonderful aqua beanie which Maura has reinforced for additional warmth with a snug white headband.
And this is one I snapped of Ani Palmo's classic yellow beanie.
I think Ani Ariana said this hat was the classic American 'sock' hat.
Also well displayed by Ani Sangye - this one is aptly called 'Bluey' - and it goes cap in hand with her neck warmer - aptly named 'Snuggly'. These are officially collector items having been in Ani Sangye's possession for many a year.
And finally to the all American classic baseball hat with the insignia of the Washington DC Nationals that Nick is sporting.
And for the die-hard baseball fan - there is of course the DC Nationals Fanatics web site. Here's the official web-site of the DC Nationals...except it's way too cold for baseball right now. It's all about American football but that's another story...which leads me to another side-story about feet or rather paws. We humans need to keep ourselves snuggled up in winter with hats and clothes etc. and animals just have their fur and leathery paws and claws. How do they keep warm especially the young ones? I have no idea whose footprints these are - but they are 'paw print' signs of activity in the snow...of animals traveling from a to b.
I don't envy them at all...it's soooo cold. But there is warmer weather to come and not every creek freezes over and today, while it is still very cold, the sun is shining. May we all be warm in our respective ways. In the meantime there are hats and hats. Here are hats complements of Ely and Tam respectively. Thanks hat donors!
